For the Fuori Salone 2012, INTERNI will produce the major Exhibition-Event INTERNI LEGACY, during Milan Design Week
Listone Giordano teams up again with famous Italian architect Michele De Lucchi in the making of Belvedere project installation.
INTERNI LEGACY (16-22 April 2012)

Listone Giordano confirms its long-lasting cooperation with INTERNI. This year the focus is on ‘inheritance’ in constructed form, stimuli for reflection on the state of design in the widest sense of the term, covering different scales and typologies, from micro-architecture to the urban landscape, from interiors to furnishing objects.
This interesting architectural structure combines black iron with solid Ash sourced and manufactured in the sawmill of Fontaines for outdoor application. The heat-treatment of the wood is the last ring of the productive chain, based upon the use of renewable resources and sustainable forestry management. The painstaking control of the production system improves the physical characteristics of the wood. The natural action of the steam, used in the heat-treatment, is strictly operated and controlled through cutting-edge equipment. The heat-treatment process develops a series of molecular reactions in the wooden structure resulting in the modification of the saturation point of the wood fibres. Therefore improving the resistance of the wood to humidity. The heat-treated wood proves to be more resistant against insects and xylophages’fungus. An improved biological durability of the wood allows for outdoor installation of Ash wood flooring in a naturally stable and long-lasting way.
In this project signed by Michele De Lucchi the interaction between waxed black iron and wood seems to enhance the beauty of this natural material. The result is a special “island” for relax and meditation during the hectic period of Salone del Mobile.
INTERNI Legacy gives concrete form, in a series of experimental installations made with the support of technologically advanced companies in the field of construction materials and environmental sustainability, to message-ideas capable of becoming signals of reference in the complex scenario of contemporary design and research on furnishings.
The INTERNI EVENT for 2012 on the theme of messages for the future approaches this perspective through installations created by a series of international designers that announce, also on a metaphorical and symbolic level, new possibilities, figures, typologies and solutions for the design of tomorrow.
