L’artista Raffaele Salvoldi trasforma Listone Giordano Arena in un un’ambiente in continua trasformazione: un campo di azione aperto, dove costruzione e decostruzione diventano strumenti critici e operativi. Qui, il progetto si manifesta come processo vivo, in cui la forma non è definitiva ma emerge attraverso il tempo, il gesto e l’interazione collettiva. L’installazione si configura come un organismo dinamico, capace di registrare le tracce delle azioni individuali e restituirle come paesaggio condiviso.

Artist Raffaele Salvoldi transforms the Listone Giordano Arena into an environment in constant flux: an open field of action where construction and deconstruction become both critical and operational tools. Here, design manifests as a living process, where form is not definitive but emerges through time, gesture, and collective interaction. The installation functions as a dynamic organism, recording individual actions and reflecting them back as a shared landscape.

Ogni partecipante, previa registrazione, riceverà un kit composto da 200 elementi modulari in Rovere di Fontaines, materia nobile e sostenibile, espressione di una filiera consapevole e di un rapporto rinnovato tra risorsa naturale e cultura del progetto. Il Rovere, con la sua tattilità e la sua memoria, diventa archetipo progettuale e strumento di pensiero.

Each participant, upon registration, will receive a kit consisting of 200 modular elements in Fontaines Oak. This noble and sustainable material is the expression of a conscious supply chain and a renewed bond between natural resources and design culture. With its tactile quality and inherent memory, the Oak becomes a design archetype and a tool for thought.

Trenta minuti per immaginare, configurare, mettere in discussione. Trenta minuti per dare forma a un’ipotesi di architettura temporanea, effimera, in dialogo con le strutture esistenti e con l’azione degli altri partecipanti. In questo tempo definito, il gesto progettuale si condensa in un esercizio di sintesi, intuizione e responsabilità.

Thirty minutes to imagine, configure, and question. Thirty minutes to give shape to a hypothesis of temporary, ephemeral architecture in dialogue with existing structures and the actions of other participants. In this defined timeframe, the design gesture is condensed into an exercise of synthesis, intuition, and responsibility.

build un-build si propone come una piattaforma di sperimentazione sul valore generativo del fare e del disfare, dove il progetto si afferma come processo aperto, reversibile e adattivo. L’atto costruttivo diventa così strumento di conoscenza e occasione per interrogare il ruolo del design nel ridefinire le relazioni tra individuo, materia e ambiente.

build un-build serves as an experimental platform on the generative value of making and unmaking, where design asserts itself as an open, reversible, and adaptive process. The act of building thus becomes a tool for knowledge and an opportunity to question the role of design in redefining the relationships between the individual, matter, and the environment.

Raffaele Salvoldi nasce come direttore della fotografia, lavorando per oltre dieci anni tra cinema e pubblicità con Brand come Gessi, Lavazza, Discovery Channel e Armani. Durante il lockdown inizia a costruire piccole architetture con mattoncini Kapla nel suo soggiorno: un gesto che segna l’inizio del suo percorso artistico.

Nel 2022 realizza un’installazione a Casa Bossi, a Novara, dando forma alla sua visione di opere temporanee in dialogo con luoghi storici, costruite e poi demolite come esperienza collettiva. Nel 2023 collabora con il brand Salvatori alla Milano Design Week, introducendo il marmo e aprendo alla possibilità di opere permanenti.

Nel 2024, al Castello di Agliè, crea la prima “Città Immaginaria”, un’installazione urbana effimera sul tema della bellezza transitoria. Nel 2025 nasce l’associazione culturale La Città Immaginaria APS, che promuove installazioni site-specific in Italia e all’estero, coinvolgendo anche artisti internazionali.

Raffaele Salvoldi began his career as a Director of Photography, working for over a decade in film and advertising with Brands such as Gessi, Lavazza, Discovery Channel, and Armani. During the lockdown, he began building small-scale architectures with Kapla blocks in his living room—a gesture that marked the beginning of his artistic journey.

In 2022, he created an installation at Casa Bossi in Novara, giving shape to his vision of temporary works in dialogue with historical sites, built and then demolished as a collective experience. In 2023, he collaborated with the brand Salvatori during Milan Design Week, introducing marble and exploring the possibility of permanent works.

In 2024, at the Agliè Castle, he created the first “Imaginary City,” an ephemeral urban installation on the theme of transient beauty. In 2025, he founded the cultural association La Città Immaginaria APS, which promotes site-specific installations in Italy and abroad, involving international artists.
