Health is a supreme value, it is not negotiable. And yet it is often threatened by external factors we may not even be aware of. Not just outside of the home where smog, food habits and lifestyles are almost thrust upon us by the rhythms of modern living. But inside the home, our nest, our natural refuge from the dangers outside. It can hide insidious and invisible enemies and takes the form of artificial pollution from the products used to build the walls of the house, the finishes and the furniture within.<\/p>\n

Recent studies have shown that the quality of air inside our houses and workplaces of work can pose a greater risk to our health that the outdoor air in many city centres. Indoor areas that are increasingly hermetically sealed off to save energy make an even stronger case for choosing items made with components that are safe, a factor that is far more important than just beauty. The choice of a wooden floor is to surround ourselves with something natural, something wholesome.<\/p>\n

Very true. But let\u2019s make sure it\u2019s not a Trojan horse! Floors are one of the largest surfaces of your home. You sleep on it, so at least 8 hours of your day is spent in contact with it. That is more than a third of your life. Your children and grandchildren will play on it. And although we may not be able to see it, some aspects of flooring should not be ignored.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t
