Biosphera is a marking system based on Listone Giordano’s green procurement policy which meets the need to provide consumers with synthetic, clear and transparent information on the origin of the raw materials used. It focuses solely on the issue of forestry resources protection, in particular on their use in multilayer wooden floors. As such it is not meant to replace the internationally established certification protocols, which generally have broader fields of application and wider scope. Listone Giordano through Biosphera aims to spread among its customers a culture of environmental responsibility and promote the purchase of certified wood.
Biosphera Certified
The mark identifies products made with raw materials with certified forestry management according to internationally recognised standards (FSC®, PEFC, SFI, OLB, LEI, etc.)
Biosphera Controlled
The mark identifies products made with raw materials whose legal origin and forestry management, although not yet certified, is however validated by specific audits and documentary evidence. This is usually the intermediate step towards the official forestry certification.
FSC®
The FSC ®(Forest Stewardship Council) is the international certification of the chain of custody which identifies those products containing wood originating from forests who have been managed in a correct and responsible way, according to strict environmental, social and economical standards. Listone Giordano thus guarantees its customers the purchase of wooden floors made with raw materials sourced from responsibly managed forests, FSC ® certified, and from other controlled sources.

PEFC
PEFC (Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) is the international certification for the chain of custody ensuring the sourcing of raw materials from eco-sustainable managed forests. Listone Giordano promotes the purchasing of wood floors manufactured with raw materials from eco-friendly forestry management and a system of traceability. We make our customers aware of purchasing certified wood species.

Do you fancy walking barefoot on your wood floor? You can safely do it now thank to Crystalcare anti-bacteria finish developed by Listone Giordano and Icro. A simple additive incorporated in Naturplus2, Invisible Touch and Oleonature finishes ensures an anti-bacteria certification granted by CATAS s.p.a according to ISO 22196:2007 regulation.

F4 Stars Certifications
Listone Giordano wood floors comply to the most restrictive class F **** classification system on formaldehyde emissions defined by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT): according to this class levels of Formaldehyde emissions must be below 5 μg / m²h.
(Comparative tests show that the most restrictive class F **** implies formaldehyde emission levels below half of those allowed to get the E1 class in Europe). The testing procedure and subsequent certification at the MLIT was carried out in collaboration with RISE (Research Institute of Sweden), an independent third party officially recognized by the Japanese authorities.
Certification CARB2/TSCA title VI
The plywood panels used for Listone Giordano wood floors are in compliance with US TSCA Title VI and CARB phase 2 Formaldehyde emissions.
French certification emissions of volatile organic compounds.
French decree no. 2011 – 321 (23 March 2011 – Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing) imposes all manufacturers of building materials to declare VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) emissions in the form of emission classes and requires mandatory labelling of products. Listone Giordano’s commitment to heath and the protection of its customers have lead to the A+ rating of all its products, the highest among those in the decree.
TÜV PROFICERT – product interior
It certifies that Listone Giordano 2-layer wood floors guarantee compliance with health and quality criteria selected by TÜV Hessen. A voluntary certification specifically developed for construction products intended for indoor application.
Reaction to fire
The properties of fire resistance regarding Listone Giordano wood floors were determined on the basis of tests conducted in accordance with EN 13501-1 or classified as required by EN 14342: 2013.

Formaldehyde
Listone Giordano cherishes the health of its own customers. Therefore it performs severe tests on its wood floors which show percentages largely below the limits set up by the class E1 regulation, which is amongst the strictest European regulations (UNI EN 14342).
