Fascinated by Nordic architecture, the clients chose the Blockhaus construction system, which places wood at the heart of the project. Inside, bleached exposed fir and reclaimed wood blend with modern parquet flooring with a three-dimensional texture.

The few carefully chosen pieces of furniture in this home lend it a playful personality and stem from the clients’ strong passion for design and works of art, as well as from Rubner Haus’s partners such as Agape, Piscine Castiglione, Paghera Giardini, Listone Giordano, and Wonderwall Studios.

Listone Giordano’s Loop parquet flooring, designed by Sebastiano Canzano, was chosen for the surfaces. This concept opens up a new interpretation of wooden flooring, which is not geometrically oriented but rather disorienting and therefore curiously stimulating.

The Loop parquet project stems from a profound reflection on the concept of limits in design products, with the aim of going beyond the form that encloses them, in order to make the limit (and the limit of form) lose its characteristic of staticity and insurmountability, thus making it more dynamic. Hence, the semantic choice of the term “loop” conveys a sense of multiplied beauty for parquet flooring that goes beyond its traditional use on floors.
