Listone Giordano dresses the new school in Chienes

A new modern and sustainable space in the heart of Chienes
The building designed by Roland Baldi Architects is located in a central location in Chienes and replaces the old kindergarten with a new modern and sustainable structure that is perfectly integrated into the urban context.
The architecture combines concrete and wood, creating spacious and functional spaces. Warm tones on the second floor recall the bell tower, while large windows and green areas ensure brightness, accessibility, and well-being. The two-story structure houses various educational functions. A key element is the integrated restaurant, which also serves adjacent buildings. The wood facade, inspired by the bell tower, harmonizes with the village center, providing a safe and welcoming environment for children.
Inside the building, birch wood characterizes the spaces, from the doors to the acoustic ceiling tiles to the installation of more than 500 square meters of parquet flooring and custom-created solid wood furniture. The choice of natural materials, combined with soft color tones, creates a child-friendly environment.
The wood floor chosen for this project is Fabric parquet designed by Marc Sadler for Listone Giordano in the shade Corde.
Fabrique is a seamless birch wood floor with a uniform, organic texture that creates an almost monolithic aesthetic effect.

In addition to the architectural beauty of the building, special attention was paid to sustainability and safety. The entire building was built according to the ClimateHouse A standard. Heating is provided by an autonomous air-water heat pump. In addition, controlled ventilation with heat recovery ensures fresh air and a comfortable air-conditioned environment. Photovoltaic panels are integrated on the green roof. The building is designed according to the DNSH (do no significant harm) principle.
